So i'm alive...and have a bit of new art to share.

I have been extremely busy lately with work and live lately, but I have had time to do some sketches with my new wacom intous 4....so pretty. :)

Just testing out photoshop again...I forgot how much fun it is to paint in something other then Corel Painter!
My shiny new toys! Done over a few hours. Trying to get good at digital life painting.
A weird sketch that I did while watching the Dark Knight...I intended to draw Poison Ivy in an old west style...I think i need ref though....man I need to get into life drawing again >
I should also have some sketches to post (as soon as I scan them) from visiting my sick dad.

Stay tuned!

Deven

Ok...so three posts in one day. On a roll! :)

This is Nef's twin brother Deven. They are fraternal twins, but you you wouldn't think so based on their skin tone and hair. There basic facial features are the same though.
I basically just flipped and drew over the image of Nef. It helped keep the basic features of both the same.

After all the Batman doodles, I wanted to try a character portrait. This is one of 13 I plan to do over the upcoming weeks.

Yeah...went a little to far with the character re-designs though.
My Fav is Harle-quin. You will see more of this in the future :)!
Oh...and the Joker was alot of fun to draw.

An old character of mine from forever-ago.
Had the colour and lighting idea for about 2 years now.
Nice to get it out on the canvas...even if its digital.
6 hours in Corel painter 9.5.

Updates much!
Been a busy few days.

Here is the character design I've been working on-and-off on for the last month...A demon that at first glance looks human. He has a few eyes incorporated into his tattoos, which is actually his skin (well his nails are black and he doesn't seem the type to paint them ;p).

Corel Painter 9.5
15ish hours or so...not really sure though.

Bouguereau's painting Tricoteuse

After seeing Yumedust's coloured colouring book page on her DA, I decided to do one of my own. I settled on Esmerelda, of which I coloured using the colour pallete from Bouguereau's (yes the same artist as Yume, but hes one of my fav's so i figured it was ok ;p) painting Tricoteuse (the first image). Intially I wanted to use his painting "Rest" for the colours (I have it on my wall) but decided to go with a more restricted colouring scheme.

Oh and for the record...digitally painting stone is freaking hard without using existing textures. I did use a combination of dry brushes and pastels in Corel Painter 9.5 which did help, but got tiring after a while. No photo textures used and only reference used was the Bouguereau painting.

Ryan Wood and Sam Nielson have also done the same with Belle and Jasmine pages!
